pink streak
Chantale and I found ourselves locked outside for 3 hours this morning. Luckily, we had a camera to help pass the time. Expect some shots from that adventure in the next few weeks.
Spider's are freaking creepy, especially huge ones that jump onto your neck and crawl all over.

... And now for a regularly scheduled workday

with nobody around to clean it up
for the record, these are traffic pylons submerged in an inner-city swamp.
Here we have a photograph of an inner-city swamp, complete with submerged traffic pylons. This mess has been hanging out at St. Laurent for as long as I've been in the city. There's tons of tangled metal bars, which used to make up the frame of a building in this lot. It's fenced off, as if they wanted to keep it this way.
Great for the ducks!

Trash Block
This is an entire block across the street from us that's fired out and abandoned, hopefully it goes soon. Makes a great wall for posting bills, though.

An Earth Odyssey
Want to know how to kill a few hours of time every day? Pick up a Wii. These things are still incredible to me. We're currently addicted to Steven Spielberg's Boom Blox, and of course, Mario Kart Wii.
Listening to: Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Dead Voices

The Ride Of His Life
Gosh darn it's smoking hot here! You crave shade and air conditioned regions. We ran into a friend on the street this morning, and decided to join them for brunch at Aux Vivres - super tasty vegan food.
Listening to: Stephen Malkmus - Real Emotional Trash

Isobel Campbell
2 golden pancakes baked for symbolic goodness.
It's quite literally the first day of summer here in Montreal. +30 degrees and so humid you're dripping. We'll need to install the air conditioning right now, or we may lose the chinchilla to heat exhaustion.
And nobody wants to lose a chinchilla.
Listening to: Belle & Sebastian - Isobel Campbell

Vacuum Packed
Value Village thought it'd be a great idea to strip down barbie dolls, throw them in plastic bags and sell them by the registers. Impulse buys, anyone?

It's been a very long and productive week, and I'm glad it's coming to a close. Bought my first vest today at VV, looking forward to putting it to good use.
