Okay, this whole holiday season really screws me up. Seems I'm busier than ever, and on top of it all I have 3 months of bookkeeping to catch up on, plus T4's to create. Merry ho ho. Bag humbug.

I had someone wondering why I hadn't posted any photos lately. Truth is, I haven't been that happy with what's coming from my camera these days. Plus, I've been working steady on the band's demo, website, myspace page, etc. etc.
Excuses excuses...
Done et Done! After many beers, Kaja and I finished the Silver Leaf type at around 3am last night. This was a collaboration from five of us, and I'd have to say I'm super ecstatic about the way they shaped up.
Now to mount them on the wall in our space.
First piano + theory lesson night. It's gonna be pretty terrific, if not solely for the conversations revolving around humanity, our culture & it's correlation to music.
Recording, Day 2
We pulled off 4 tracks yesterday, with plans for more tonight. Tomorrow is vocals and various overdubs. Some mixing throughout the week, and hopefully, hopefully some demos to be proud of for next week.
Took a stab at making a diptych. Loving the filter I've developed in Lightroom, not sure why it's so appealing to my eyes but it works wonders on these Drumheller sunset photos.
Working away on a Friday night, following a super successful practice. Looks like we'll be having a New Years Eve party at our place, where we'll play a show. Self indulgent? Definitely.

Kaja purchased a slow cooker yesterday, so we had Thansgiving Dinner #1 last night. I'm quite distraught my Montréal's lack of pre-made pie options at the grocery store. Namely, pumpkin.
Off to Vancouver early tomorrow morning. Oh, Vancity, you better have some Pumpkin Pie! (And Eggnog? Pretty please?)

A friend from Calgary is in town for the week. We'll probably stop by Avesta for some delicious Turkish cuisine.
Twas a grand weekend. We had a mid-afternoon brunch gathering on Sunday, complete with croissant french toast, mushroom + ricotta crepes, deviled eggs... Delicious!
Watched some OG Star Trek last night. The episode where a giant maw-like doomsday weapon is roaming the galaxy, chomping up planets for energy. Nothing tops William Shatner's commanding style, aside from Patrick Stewart's brilliant acting.

Started watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) last night. Definitely a strange experience. They used some analog effects I hadn't seen on film before, which were kind of jarring and disorienting but get the point across.

Watched the Portishead: Roseland NYC performance last night. It was quite pleasant, aside from the random shots in film grain which complete take away from the experience. And, Portishead + Orchestra? Pretty dang incredible.

I just realized yesterday that we're getting extremely close to the big election day. How do you think it's going to go down? Are we looking at 4 more years of Republican crap due to easily exploitable voting computers? Or 4 years of a possibly alright to over the top wonderful Democrat government?
